Art i natura, 1999
(Art and nature)
In the municipal area of Cervelló there are a few Roman monuments of great artistic and historical value, which also form part of the people’s life.
Due to its geographical location, Cervelló changed from a rural village, dedicated basically to agriculture, with mills and quarries, to an industrial center, basically dedicated to the glass industry. Besides, it has also been the place of residence of the poet Frederic Soler, known as “Pitarra”, and the cradle of Josep Tarradelles, President of the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The chosen topic is the reference to a Roman arch and a stone post of Cervelló, two elements with a strong significance in the town.
”Art i Natura” was finished in 1999. Piece of cast iron of 200 x 400 x 50 cm. Stone column of Cervelló: 40 x 40 x 250 cm.
